Bank Independent Kicks Off Third Annual Joy of Sharing Toy Drive

  • Joy of Sharing BearSheffield, Ala. – Monday, November 18, 2013 – Bank Independent has teamed up with WAFF 48 for the third year in a row for the Joy of Sharing, which kicks off on Friday, November 29, at all Bank Independent locations. Joy of Sharing is a campaign that collects toys at all 27 locations and distributes the toys to local organizations that Bank Independent partners with in each county.

In 2012, Bank Independent collected over 2,400 toys and nearly $1400 in gift cards and cash, which were distributed to seven organizations throughout North Alabama. All Bank Independent lobby locations will be exclusive drop-off destinations for collecting toys to distribute to partnered organizations in Colbert, Lauderdale, Morgan, Franklin, Lawrence and Limestone County locations through Saturday, December 21.

“It has always been important to all of us at Bank Independent to find ways to give back and to serve our local communities,” shared Bank Independent President Macke Mauldin. “That’s why we’re excited to offer our Joy of Sharing campaign for the third year. The lobby locations in the six counties we serve provide convenient opportunities for our customers, neighbors and friends to drop off toys.  They can also be confident that their donations are going to organizations that benefit their own local community.”

This year, Bank Independent will partner with local organizations in each county including the Angel Tree Program in partnership with Lexington High School, Committee on Church Cooperation of Morgan County, William Porter Foundation in the Shoals, Safeplace of the Shoals, Lauderdale County Christian Children’s Home, Cornerstone Church of Lawrence County, DHR of Franklin County, DHR of Limestone County and Rogersville Volunteer Fire Department.
