"Alexa, open Bank Independent."

Now you can access your Bank Independent account information using just your voice.

You depend upon your Alexa device for weather and news, to find and stream your favorite music, to place your Amazon orders and maybe even to turn off your lights. Why not ask Alexa to help you manage your Bank Independent accounts?

It's easy to get started with the Bank Independent skill for Alexa:

All you need is an Amazon account, an Amazon Alexa/Echo device connected to WiFi, at least one Bank Independent account number. 


1. Call Bank Independent Customer Service at (256) 386-5000 or (877) 865-5050 to request an Alexa PIN (Personal Identification Number). If you already have a PIN for our Independent Express telephone banking system, you're all set! Please note: This PIN is NOT your debit card PIN.

2. Search for the skill "Bank Independent" in the Amazon Alexa app and click "Enable."

3. Complete the "Account Linking" process in the skill following the directions on the screen.

4. Get started by saying, "Alexa, open Bank Independent!"


What to ask Alexa

One of qualities we admire in Alexa, our newest team member, is her ability to adapt and evolve as she gets to know you. When you're talking to Alexa, feel free to simply ask her a question, just like you'd ask a Bank Independent Customer Service Representative.

Always start by saying, "Alexa, open Bank Independent" to open the skill.

Next, ask Alexa a question or state a request. If needed, Alexa will ask for your four-digit PIN for authentication:

"What's the balance of my checking account?"

"Did check number 1234 clear my account?"

"Is the branch on Cox Creek open until 8pm?"

"When does my CD mature?"

"What was the last deposit into my savings account?"

"How much do I owe on my loan?"

"I need to transfer money."

"How much money do I have in my Christmas Club?"
"Give me the latest CD rates."

"What were the last five transactions in my checking account?"
