    Apple Pay for use with Apple devices
    Android Pay for use with devices using Android operating systems 
    Samsung Pay for use with Samsung devices 
    Masterpass for use with Android devices or device-less in-app/online purchases

    Your digital wallet is a safe, simple way to store and make purchases with your Bank Independent Debit and Credit Cards using your mobile device. 

    Digital wallets offer:

    Convenience – Leave your card in your wallet and use your smartphone to pay for your purchases.
    Security – Verification through your mobile device will ensure that your purchase is authorized.
    Privacy – Your card will never be seen or handled by a third party. 
    Benefits – You'll enjoy all of the benefits applicable to your Bank Independent Debit and Credit* Cards, including 24/7 fraud monitoring.

    What is a digital wallet?
    A digital wallet is the secure storage of your debit and credit card information on your smart phone, table or watch enabling you to make payments in stores and online using only your compatible mobile device.

    How do I get started with a digital wallet?
    Each digital wallet payment option has a slightly different enrollment process:

    Apple Pay
    • Download the latest iOS update to your device
    • Open your Apple Wallet
    • Take a photo of your Bank Independent card using your device's camera
    • To complete your enrollment process, you may have to contact Bank Independent's Apple Pay Customer Service team at (256) 386-5000 or (877) 865-5050 Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
    Samsung Pay
    • Download the Samsung Pay app from the Google Play store or find it in your pre-installed apps on your device
    • Sign in to your Samsung account
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete enrollment
    Android Pay
    • Download the Android Pay app from the Google Play store
    • Open the app and add your Bank Independent cards as instructed on your screen
    • Download the Masterpass app from the Google Play store
    • Open the app and add your Bank Independent cards as instructed on your screen

    Are digital wallets secure?
    Yes--very secure.

    Digital wallets assign, encrypt and securely store a unique Device Account Number on your mobile device and uses that number to process your payment, and can't be activated until you authorize, verify and/or authenticate your purchase.

    Digital wallets do not store or share your transaction details or records--even with the merchant, and your full card number is not displayed on your phone.

    If your mobile device is lost or stolen, purchases cannot be authorized without your authorization.

    Because your actual debit card is not needed for purchases, there are fewer opportunities for lost or stolen debit cards.

    Where can I use my digital wallet?
    Hundreds of thousands of stores, restaurants and service providers now accept Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay, with more merchants being added every day. Just ask your retailer if they accept your preferred digital wallet payment method, or look for the Apple Pay, Android Pay or Samsung Pay logo or signage near the payment terminal. You can also use Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay for online purchases or through select mobile apps.     What happens if I lose my mobile device?
    If your iPhone or iPad is ever lost or stolen, you can use your Find My iPhone app to quickly put your device in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay, or you can wipe your device clean completely. If your Android device is lost or stolen, you can use Android Device Manager to instantly lock it from anywhere, secure it with a new password, or wipe it clean of personal data. Samsung Pay offers Samsung Find My Mobile service to lock or erase your payment cards; you can also choose to erase your entire device and/or removable storage. In addition, please contact Bank Independent Customer Service at (256) 386-5000 or (877) 865-5050 and we will deactivate your digital wallet capabilities until you notify us to reactivate your new or found device.

    How do I use my digital wallet to pay for purchases?
    The process is slightly different with each digital wallet payment option:

    Apple Pay: Open your wallet app and hold your mobile device near the checkout reader with your finger on Touch ID 
    Android Pay: Make sure your phone is unlocked and hold your phone up to the payment terminal 
    Samsung Pay: Swipe up on your screen, authenticate and then hover your device over the checkout reader 
    Masterpass: Open the app and hold your mobile device near the checkout reader with your finger on the fingerprint scanner


    *At this time, Bank Independent's business credit cards are not eligible for digital wallet enrollment.
